Licensed in 1982, Don Hanan brings a lifetime of dedication and service to his real estate clients. After high school, he served in the Marine Corps and spent two decades in Durham law enforcement before 15 years as a ranking officer in the Durham Fire Department. His first-responder background shapes his approach to real estate, where he quickly identifies a client’s immediate needs and works to meet both their wants and long-term goals. Having earned a degree from Guilford College, Don learned how to make the most out of every opportunity, and he genuinely cares for those he works with, often forming bonds that turn clients into lifelong friends.
Don has experience in commercial real estate, particularly in guiding religious organizations through property ventures. Known for his integrity and his hands-on approach, Don often finds joy in seeing the next generation of clients come to him — children and grandchildren of the families he’s previously helped. He tells clients, “In an emergency, call 911, then call Don,” emphasizing his commitment to their well-being beyond real estate. Don enjoys reading, word games, and spending time with his Golden Doodle, Ada. With a rich life that includes becoming a licensed pilot and helping families find security in their homes, Don’s goal is to be remembered as a dependable, giving, and loyal friend to all he serves.
