West & Woodall Real Estate’s Bert Woodall Honored with Durham Regional Association of Realtors® Citizenship Award

Woodall Among Honorees Recognized at 98th Annual Awards Luncheon

Durham, NC, January 25, 2019 – West & Woodall Real Estate's Co-Owner, Broker and Realtor® Bert Woodall was among this year’s honorees recognized during the Durham Regional Association of Realtors' 98th Annual Awards Luncheon earlier this month. Woodall was presented with the association’s Citizenship Award during the luncheon on January 10, 2019. The awards are given each year to honor the highest levels of service to the industry and to the Durham community by local real estate professionals.

The Citizenship Award is given annually to an active Realtor® in recognition of their contributions to the betterment of their community through outstanding public service. “Bert Woodall has a servant's heart,” said Tammi Brooks, 2018 President, Durham Regional Association of Realtors®. “He is endlessly devoted to his community, offering his time, expertise, resources, and heart. From he and his wife's service as foster parents to his long-time devotion and service to Boy Scouts. Bert is highly regarded by his colleagues, evident in the rousing standing ovation he received upon the announcement of the award.”

Woodall joined the association in 2005, currently co-chairs its Grievance Committee and is also very active in the Durham Community. His involvement includes serving as Past President and very active member of the Durham Jaycees including receiving a lifetime membership in 2008, current committee chair for Boy Scout Troop 424, former assistant Cubmaster for Cub Scout Troop 424, former Mawat Boy Scout District Membership Vice President, member of Triangle Grace Church, corporate supporter of Habitat for Humanity, co-chair with Rise Against Hunger in Durham and licensed foster parent. In addition, he’s married, has three children and became co-owner of West & Woodall in 2009.

“Being of service to others and involvement in the broader community is part of who I am,” said Woodall. “Growing up, my family and Scouting instilled in me the importance of service to others. Once I joined the Durham Jaycees, the Jaycee Creed reinforced that to me with its last line that reads ‘Service to Humanity is the Best Work of Life.’ I truly enjoy helping others.”
