Pickett Sprouse Commercial Real Estate’s Robert Sprouse Honored with Durham Regional Association of REALTORS ® C.E. Phillips Jr. Wall of Fame Award

Durham, NC, February 18, 2020 – Pickett Sprouse Commercial Real Estate Co-Founder, Commercial Broker and REALTOR® Robert Sprouse was among this year’s honorees recognized recently during the Durham Regional Association of Realtors' (DRAR) 99th Annual Awards Luncheon. Sprouse was presented with the association’s C.E. Phillips Jr. Wall of Fame Award during the luncheon on January 10, 2020. The awards are given each year to honor the highest levels of service to the industry and to the Durham community by local real estate professionals.

The C. E. Phillips, Jr. Wall of Fame was started in 1997 in honor of C. E. Phillips, Jr., the first real estate licensee in North Carolina. The award is given to high-achieving REALTORS® who have given a lifetime of service to DRAR. Recipients must have been an active REALTOR® for at least 25 years and be beyond retirement age. A member plaque, which hangs on the wall in the association’s office, serves as a tribute to members who are selected to receive the award.

West & Woodall Real Estate acquired Pickett Sprouse in 2018 when Sprouse was ready to step back from his ownership duties. The company retained its name, and Sprouse remains a valuable member of the Pickett Sprouse team.

“Robert is a commercial real estate icon in Durham and beyond,” said Bert Woodall Pickett Sprouse Co-owner, Broker and REALTOR®. “By freely giving of his time and knowledge over the years, he has been one of the biggest supporters of his industry colleagues in Durham through his many contributions to the Durham Regional Association of REALTORS®. Commercial real estate and our association would simply not be what it is today without Robert.”

Sprouse has held many leadership positions with DRAR and has received several awards from the association over the years, including Past President and past REALTOR® of the Year. He is also a REALTOR® Emeritus, which is someone who has been a REALTOR® for more than 40 years. He was integral in finding a home for DRAR’s office and was involved with its planning and construction and is still involved with its ongoing maintenance.

“The Durham Regional Association of REALTORS® plays a key role in the real estate industry in Durham,” said Sprouse. “I have been privileged to support its work and my REALTOR® colleagues over the years as we have all worked to serve Durham and its changing real estate needs in the best way possible.”

Other Durham Regional Association of REALTORS® award recipients for this year include:

  • Julia Tucker – 2019 Realtor® of the Year
