Children fighting cancer and other serious illnesses at Triangle hospitals will have more reasons to smile this holiday season and throughout the year because of West & Woodall Real Estate’s, Pickett Sprouse Commercial Real Estate’s, and West & Woodall Property Management’s brokers, agents, and staff. The companies donated close to $2,000 worth of toys to Zach’s Toy Chest as part of the West & Woodall Gives Back program, which allows the companies to regularly give back to their community.

The nonprofit is based in Holly Springs and donates new toys and more to help boost the spirits of pediatric patients who are between the ages of 0 to 18 at area hospitals. While the focus is on young cancer patients, children battling other serious illnesses benefit from the toy donations as well.

Owners Kirk West and Bert Woodall divided their agents and staff into eight teams during the companies’ December 7 holiday party. As part of a competition, each team was tasked with going to local stores and purchasing just over $200 in toys for the organization.

“Since giving back to our community is an important part of our company’s mission, we and our agents, brokers, and staff were delighted to have a way to give joy to these young patients who are going through so much,” said Bert Woodall.

According to Zach’s Toy Chest website, the toys “ensure that every patient has a gift for holidays, birthdays and most importantly, a little something to serve as a reward for their courage in fighting cancer and other critical illnesses.”

West & Woodall Real Estate serves as a community drop-off point for Zach’s Toy Chest donations year-round. Donations can be made at the company office at 1901 Hillandale Road, Suite 100 in Durham.
