Virginia Garden Week to Take Place April 27 – May 4, 2019
Durham, NC, April 11, 2019 – West & Woodall Real Estate welcomes Virginia Garden Week to North Carolina for the first time it’s ever crossed the state line. The annual event will be held April 27 - May 4, 2019. It’s the oldest and largest house and garden tour in the nation and features 31 tours across Virginia and into North Carolina.
This year, the Danville tour will take place on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. It includes a newly constructed home in The Reserve on Hyco Lake, which is located just inside the North Carolina state line. West & Woodall serves as the exclusive agency for The Reserve.
“I think it’s important that Garden Week is featuring a home on Hyco Lake this year because it will expose many more people to the lake who may have never heard of it before,” says Carla Stovall, Realtor Broker with West & Woodall Real Estate. “Through having the home in The Reserve as part of the tour, we can show visitors what life on Hyco Lake is really all about.”
Hyco Lake has 3,750 Acres and 120 miles of shore line. It has a 65-acre recreational park and boating, jet skiing, fishing and swimming are all activities allowed on the lake. Wakeboarding and wake surfing tournaments that are sponsored by West & Woodall are also held on the lake.
The Reserve is a gated community located on the north end of Hyco Lake and is one of the area’s newest subdivisions. There are 31 lots in the Reserve with only nine left at this time for purchase. There is currently one home that was built by the original developer that is listed for sale by West & Woodall. The home within The Reserve that’s being featured on the tour is located at 431 Estate Road and is owned by Jim and Wendy Abercrombie.
The Virginia Garden Week tour is self-driving and features three distinct areas straddling the Virginia – North Carolina border. It will begin at the Virginia International Raceway and associated motorsport resort complex, stop in Milton, North Carolina where visitors can enjoy a reenactment in Thomas Day’s Workshop as well as tour two historic private homes, several churches and the Milton Renaissance Museum and then concludes with the stop at the Abercrombie home in The Reserve.
